Muslim Council of Elders to take part at ‘The London Book Fair’

The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar is set to participate at the London Book Fair, which runs from the 12th until the 14th of March at Olympia London. This is set to be the Council’s second consecutive participation at the renowned book fair, which is set to be followed with an inaugural participation at the Paris Book Fair in France later this week.

Commenting on the Council’s participation, the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders Dr Sultan Al Remeithi said, “For the second year running, the Muslim Council of Elders is proud to take part in the London Book Fair, one of the most important academic events in Europe and the world. The Council’s core message is to promote the values of peace, coexistence and tolerance around the world, and we feel our participation in the London Book Fair and other international events of such caliber will be of great assistance in achieving that. Previous participations at international book fairs have wielded a great amount of success for the council and we look forward to continuing that in London and Paris this coming week. ”

The Muslim Council of Elders is an independent international organization that was established to promote peace in Muslim communities. The Council unites Muslim scholars, experts and dignitaries who are known for their wisdom, sense of justice, independence and moderateness. The organisation works together to promote peace, to discourage infighting and to address the sources of conflict, divisiveness and fragmentation in Muslim communities.

Hosted in the United Arab Emirates’ capital, Abu Dhabi, the Council is the first institutional body that aims to stabilise the Muslim world by promoting tolerance, and putting an end to the sectarianism and violence.
