Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders: Al-Azhar is experiencing its most fruitful era under the guidance of the Grand Imam


The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam has congratulated Al-Azhar as a university, mosque and academic institution for the anniversary of its founding 1083 years ago on 7 Ramadan 361AH.


Judge Abdelsalam said, "1083 years have passed since the establishment of Al-Azhar, the most prestigious Islamic institution in the world, which continues to contribute and provide the Muslim world with much-needed support and stability through continued religious renewal."


Abdelsalam added that Al-Azhar is currently experiencing its most fruitful era under the guidance and stewardship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders while continuing to be the standard-bearer of knowledge and faith and a reputed academic institution.
