His Eminence the Grand Imam praises the Prime Minister of New Zealand following Christchurch Terrorist Attacks

His Eminence Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders has expressed his sheer sadness at the terrorist attacks which were carried out in the New Zealand City of Christchurch this past Friday, during a meeting with the New Zealand Ambassador to Egypt Greg Lewis. The Grand Imam also expressed his appreciation of New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her honourable role in easing the suffering of the victims while working towards stopping future attacks.

For his part, the New Zealand Ambassador to Egypt reiterated that his nation sees this cowardly attack as an act of terror and that the culprit of this heinous act will face justice.

The Ambassador also expressed his respect for the outpouring grief felt by Muslims around the world as a result of this savage attack while also revealing that the New Zealand government has taken some measures to protect Muslims and mosques in the future.
