"Miracles of Prophets: Between Reason and Science" - One of the latest releases at the Muslim Council of Elders' Pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair 2024

The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair 2024 presents to its visitors the book "Miracles of Prophets: Between Reason and Science" by Sheikh Muhammad As-Sadiq Arjoun, a prominent scholar of Al-Azhar.

The origin of this book traces back to a lecture delivered by Sheikh Arjoun, at the Alexandria Religious Institute in the year 1374 H/1955 CE, on the occasion of Isra and Mi'raj. It was part of the lectures held by the institute at that time, and Sheikh Arjoun took the opportunity of the commemoration of Isra and Mi'raj to address an important issue related to prophethood—the issue of miracles, their reality, and the stance of reason and science towards them. It aimed to shed light on some of the misconceptions that hinder the understanding of the miracles of prophets in general and Isra and Mi'raj in particular.

In the book, Sheikh Arjoun discusses the extent to which religious texts and their essence can be interpreted scientifically, making them fit within the framework of this science or one of its issues. He also explores the compatibility of religious texts with scientific explanations, debunking any comparison with modern inventions to make them acceptable to reason. He emphasizes that miracles are signs affirming the truthfulness of the prophets and evidence from Allah that they are His messengers to humanity. He finally points out that the place of divine messages in life is the same as the place of human reason among individuals.

The book also places reason in its correct position and reveals that knowledge before reason is vast and comprehensive. It shows that divine messages guide reason to universal truths and higher knowledge. Additionally, the author delves into some miracles of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), providing explanations and analyses based on the texts and refuting any corrupt interpretations. This is to strengthen the faith in the hearts of believers and dispel doubts from the hearts of the confused.

The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair features a diverse collection of publications, along with a series of seminars, activities, and events focused on promoting the values of peace and mutual coexistence among all humanity.

The pavilion is located alongside the Al-Azhar pavilion in Hall 4 at the Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center in the Fifth Settlement in Cairo.
